Northwest LGBT Pride are currently running two campaigns.
The first of these is the a petition to voice opposition to the so-called “Anti-Gay” Bill in Uganda, Africa.
This Bill has been placed on hold by the Ugandan Government due to international pressure but has not been dismissed, as such it still poses a threat to the lives of LGBT people living in Uganda, their friends, family and neighbours. The second petition we are organising is to petition the Irish Government to source accommodation that would be safer for LGBT Asylum Seekers in Ireland while they are being temporarily housed as their application for asylum is being considered.
While in temporary housing many LGBT individuals must keep their orientation and gender identity secret for safety. See our ONLINE PETITION HERE for more details.

The two Petitions will be presented, along with hand-collected signatures to the President of Ireland, Mr. Michael D. Higgins and to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Eamon Gilmartin TD and to the Minister for Justice and Defense, Mr. Alan Shatter TD. to be signed and forwarded to the Ugandan Government.
